Cabernet Cabaret

🎭Boise Little Theater’s 1st 🍷“Cabernet Cabaret!” 🎤💃

Thank you for participating in a special evening of firsts for our first “Cabernet Cabaret” on Saturday, September 19 at 8 pm MST! With extra precautions in place, our hand-selected performers went to great lengths to wow you. For the first time, Boise Little Theater broadcast our Awards ceremony live. Beulah Awards for Season 72 could not be announced at our annual picnic and were incorporated into our variety show. Only 20 lucky VIPs could attend our first “Cabernet Cabaret” in-person due to the restrictions on gatherings, but everyone can still watch on our Facebook!

2020 has been a season of cancellations and this has significantly impacted Boise Little Theater. We are Idaho’s longest-running volunteer-driven community theater and although our volunteers are a tremendous boon to our organization, we still rely on ticket sales to run our little theater. As supporters of our nonprofit, you know the impact the cancellation of our shows has had on our community. That is why this first fundraiser was so important.

Our Cab Cab performers competed for our grand prize People’s Choice Award to help raise funds and awareness for Boise Little Theater! 13 acts performed and audience members donated to their favorite act’s Facebook Fundraiser for BLT to cast a vote. $1 = 1 vote. Thank you to all who participated!

So, who won? Competition was fierce! Our Grand Prize went to Christina Ivey with “Going Home” an original monologue written by Christina L. Ivey. She won a 30 minute massage from Hybrid Health and a full Flex Pass to Boise Little Theater! Congrats, Christina, you earned it!

Only 30 votes behind her was our opening act… Shannon Peterson with “Anything Goes” by Cole Porter. Second place won a marvelous rubber chicken, used in BLT productions like “Once Upon a Mattress,” “Every Christmas Story Ever Told,” and many more, PLUS a mini flex pass to Boise Little Theater! Congrats, Shannon, you’ve still got it.

In Third Place by just 15 votes was our last song of the night sung by BLT board member Jillian Durrant with “Happily Ever After” written by Marshall Barer & Mary Rodgers. Jillian won a fabulous fan, last used in BLT’s production of “Leading Ladies!” She also wins a mini flex pass to Boise Little Theater! Congrats, Jillian, FAN-tastic job.

The whole Boise Little Theater family was WOW-ed by the enthusiastic support of our community and the hard work of our performers. At Boise Little Theater, we appreciate every Little thing because to us, none of them are Little. Thank you! #CabCab
