New to writing? Here are some tips from playwright Heidi Kraay on formatting:
Final Draft is a good software that I use, though pretty expensive. Scrivener has software that many use that serves all kinds of writing disciplines and is less expensive. I haven’t used that but plan to try it soon. Others have used Celtx, less expensive still, but I’m not a big fan. Many still use Word and some use Google Drive, and create templates themselves, though I find that more time-consuming.
Dramatists Guild also offers formatting guidelines here.
