(1975-1976)

Charles “Chuck” Mary brought quiet strength, steady leadership, and wide-ranging talent to Boise Little Theater for more than two decades. Beginning with his role as Inspector Pember in Ten Minute Alibi in 1964, Chuck quickly became a regular presence both onstage and behind the scenes.

An accomplished character actor, Chuck left memorable impressions as Richard Rich in A Man for All Seasons, Miles Gloriosus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Paul Sycamore in You Can’t Take It With You, and Nat Miller in Ah, Wilderness!—a performance that earned him the Best Lead Actor (Tie) award in 1978. His nuanced portrayals, natural stage presence, and comedic timing made him a reliable standout in any production.

But Chuck’s impact extended far beyond acting. He was a devoted member of numerous technical and support teams: constructing sets, running lights, assisting with properties, ushering audiences, managing front-of-house operations, and even stepping into the role of Stage Manager and Co-House Manager multiple times. He also served on the Scholarship and Nominating Committees, helping shape the next generation of community theater contributors.

Most notably, Chuck served as President of Boise Little Theater for the 1975–76 Season, guiding the organization with vision and reliability during a time of continued artistic growth.

With his characteristic humility and dedication, Chuck Mary quietly became a pillar of the BLT community. Whether hammering scenery backstage, greeting patrons at the door, or anchoring a scene onstage, his presence was felt deeply. Boise Little Theater is proud to count him among its treasured legacy members.
