Set in a 1930s European perfumery, we meet shop clerks, Amalia and Georg, who, more often than not, don’t see eye to eye. After both respond to a “lonely hearts advertisement” in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters that they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. Join Amalia and Georg to discover the identity of their true loves… and all the twists and turns along the way!

She Loves Me showcases a small but strong ensemble cast playing a range of memorable characters of all ages – and each with their moment to shine. As the New York Times wrote, “This musical is remarkably generous to all its performers: a half-dozen supporting characters are given show stoppers, too.” An ideal Christmas or Valentine’s Day show, this heart-warming story will be adored by your entire audience.

For auditions please come prepared to move in clothes you can dance in and tennis shoes or dance shoes. Prepare 60-90 seconds of a song to sing that highlights your range. Pick a song from a music that is NOT “She Loves Me.” Bring an accompaniment track on a bluetooth capable device. No acappella.

The setting is an upscale parfumerie in 1930s Hungary, so we don’t want any visible tattoos or modern piercings. This can almost always be addressed with costuming and makeup, but it’s something to consider when auditioning.

She Loves Me takes place in 1930s Hungary, largely in Maraczek’s, an upscale parfumerie. For this reason tattoos and modern piercings will either need to be covered or removed for performances. Age ranges are somewhat flexible, and depend on character pairings (Georg and Amalia, and Ritter and Kodaly).

Rehearsal Schedule: Rehearsals begin Wednesday, March 25, Monday–Friday, 7:00–9:30 PM
Not everyone will be needed at every rehearsal.

We will ask you to list conflicts that you have for the following date ranges (25-Mar thru 06-Jun) on your audition form.

Any conflicts for performance dates (May 22–24, 28–31, June 4–6 — including matinees on May 24, May 31, and June 6) will preclude you from being cast.
