(1951-1952)

John Scott’s time at Boise Little Theater was defined by his tireless dedication both on and off the stage. Beginning in 1950 with his performance as a Passenger in Heaven Can Wait, John quickly became an indispensable member of the BLT family, lending his talents to acting, lighting, set construction, sound, and stage management.

During the 1951–52 season, John served as President of the Board, a role in which he also managed the house, guiding the theater through a season of growth and activity. Beyond his presidential term, John remained deeply involved, continuing as a board member and house manager into the 1952–53 and 1953–54 seasons.

John’s versatility shone through in nearly every aspect of theater production. He contributed lighting design for productions such as Strange Bedfellows, Light Up the Sky, and Blithe Spirit, and worked tirelessly on set construction and decoration for shows including The Silver Whistle, The Women, and The Willow and I. He also supervised youth casts, ran sound, and even returned to the stage as Hiram Stanley in Gold in the Hills in 1953.

From the early 1950s through the mid-1950s, John Scott’s leadership and dedication helped strengthen Boise Little Theater’s foundation as a true community institution. His work exemplified the spirit of volunteerism and collaboration that remains at the heart of BLT to this day.
