Sheridan Gill was a foundational force at Boise Little Theater whose legacy is one of tireless service, quiet leadership, and unwavering dedication. With a career that spanned more than three decades, Sheridan served in nearly every capacity, leaving an indelible mark on both the creative and operational sides of the theater.
He served as President for two consecutive seasons (1955–56 and 1956–57) following years of work as the theater’s accountant and business manager. His commitment to BLT’s financial health continued for decades, including more than 20 seasons as Business Manager and Auditor, as well as long-standing service on the Bylaw and Script Analysis Committees. For his exceptional service, Sheridan was awarded a Special Citation for Service to Theater, named a Lifetime Patron Member in 1982, and honored with the Gold Key award in 1993–94.
Sheridan was also a multifaceted artist. Onstage, he brought heart and humor to roles such as Curley in Of Mice and Men, Vinnie in The Odd Couple, Giles Corey in The Crucible, and Lucius
Goodenough in The Curse of an Aching Heart. Behind the scenes, he was a skilled director, stage manager, assistant director, and set builder for productions like The Wedding, The Pleasure of His Company, and All My Sons.
Whether managing finances, building sets, mentoring new volunteers, or taking the stage, Sheridan Gill exemplified the spirit of community theater. His steadfast leadership, creative contributions, and decades of service helped build the foundation upon which Boise Little Theater continues to thrive today.
