Puffs

Puffs
by Matt Cox
Director – Katie Shuter Rompala
Jun. 3-18, 2022
(Comedy; Ages 13+ rude/dark humor, language)

Puffs, or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic is a Potter-inspired comedy for anyone who has ever felt like a secondary character in someone else’s story. The play that “never goes more than a minute without a laugh” (Nerdist) gives you a new look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of three new heroes just trying to make it through magic school. Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal rejects with a thing for badgers “who are so lovable and relatable, you’ll leave the theater wishing they were in the stories all along” (Hollywood Life). Their “hilariously heartfelt” (Metro) and epic journey takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be. -MattCoxLand.com “Buy a ticket immediately. I can promise you won’t regret it.” -MuggleNet

The Book of Will

The Book of Will
by Lauren Gunderson
Director – Paul Archibeque
Aug. 27-Sept. 11, 2021
(Comedy/Drama; Ages 13+ language)

“What if all the words were lost? William Shakespeare’s been dead for three years. His closest friends and fellow actors deeply miss him and his beautiful plays. When a pirated, badly botched Hamlet (“To be or not to be, there’s the point . . .”) plays on a nearby stage, they realize Shakespeare’s lines are disappearing into the forgetful memory of time. What they need is a book – a definitive copy of his original plays, but to make one, they’ll have to battle an unscrupulous publisher, a boozy poet laureate, and their own mortality. Lauren Gunderson’s look at Shakespeare’s First Folio is a lively, funny, poignant love letter to theatre and the printed word.” -Oregon Shakespeare Festival. “THE BOOK OF WILL… unequivocally announces Gunderson as a playwright with whom to be reckoned. It is, quite frankly, one of the best plays I have ever seen. It will bring tears of both laughter and sorrow to all but the most jaded audience member’s eyes. It is, in a word, a triumph.” -Boulder Weekly (CO).

by Michael Frayn
Director – Jeanna Vickery
Jan. 21-Feb. 5, 2022
(Farce; Ages 13+, language, adult situations)

A cult classic called “the funniest farce ever written!” A manic merry-go-round of actors rehearsing a British bedroom farce, a flop called Nothing’s On, complete with door slamming, intrigue on and offstage, and an errant herring. The New York Times calls it, “The most dexterously realized comedy ever about putting on a comedy. A spectacularly funny, peerless backstage farce. This dizzy, well-known romp is a festival of delirium.”
